… in Italy! The Little Prince features on school syllabuses in a good many countries, including France, Brazil and now Italy. Because it is written so clearly and simply, children find it easy to study the storyline and the different dialogues in the book.

The edition, with its 16-page schools supplement, is published by Fabbri, and here are a few extracts for you to enjoy.

… and for friends of the Antoine de Saint-Exupéry Youth Foundation. The new Paperblanks range will be here at the end of the month! On the cover page, you’ll find a facsimile of the manuscript version of the main chapter of Wind, Sand and Stars. The famous text is decorated in a magnificent shade of deep blue, an allusion, perhaps, to the nights the pilot and writer spent in the deep desert.
The notebooks, available in lined or unlined, small or large format, will be sold on behalf of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry Youth Foundation. They will be in stationery stores soon but are available for pre-order from the Little Prince online store as from today.

Brazil: yet another exhibition!

After Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, the Little Prince exhibition has now set up shop in Campinas. The entire world depicted in the book is on display, in the form of statues, reconstitutions of key scenes from the book or interactive art installations. On one immaculately white wall appear the words “Draw me a sheep”; all visiting children have to do is give free rein to their artistic talent. For each child, learning more about Antoine de Saint-Exupéry’s book is a source of fun and wonderment.

The Little Prince is a book beloved of the entire country; it is studied in schools and any event relating to the Little Prince is a great popular success.

For those of you who haven’t heard it, here is one of the hit numbers from the musical based on the Little Prince now running at the Lyric Theatre in Belfast: Welcome to B612! sung by Niamh Perry (Mama Mia, Love Never Dies). Here she plays the role of the Little Prince, inviting us to visit his tiny planet.

After the success of the TV series and the opening of an exhibit at the Musée Grévin waxworks museum, it was high time the Little Prince series had its own dedicated website. The new exhibit featuring the Little Prince and his friends opened the 14th december at the famous Paris waxworks museum. In a specially dedicated section of the museum, the Little Prince invites young and old to visit asteroid B612. Children can pose next to the Little Prince for a souvenir photo or draw him drawing a sheep on digital slates! If you’ve ever dreamed of visiting B612, now is your chance thanks to the work of sculptor Stéphane Barret and the skilled teams at the Musée Grévin. At the heart of the work of the Antoine de Saint-Exupéry Youth Foundation

Too many children in the modern world are growing up in difficult and even hostile conditions, facing major obstacles in their path to becoming adults. In this changing world, the Antoine de Saint-Exupéry Youth Foundation has made it its mission to help these young people gain access to education and culture by supporting projects in France and abroad.

This year, from 4 to 30 November 2011, through the Antoine de Saint-Exupéry exhibition staged in conjunction with the town council of Issy les Moulineaux at the Espace Icare, the Foundation will be supporting voluntary groups like Regards en France – Centre de Ressources Théâtre Handicap, making the exhibition accessible to disabled persons, and Percevoir, organising two Braille readings to be held in the dark.

The Foundation also supports the Académie Christophe Tiozzo in Toulouse and Dessine-moi un mouton, both of which offer personal tutoring and training for young people.

The work of the Foundation does not stop at the borders of France, however: far from it. The Foundation also supports local groups providing access to education for young people in Burkina Faso, Honduras, Brazil, Colombia and Cambodia.

Now here is your chance to download the famous Education Pack available to audiences of The Little Prince musical currently playing in Belfast! It contains all sorts of questions (all in English) about the Little Prince and his world (including questions about flowers, baobabs and stars). With a little help from a grown-up who speaks fluent English, our little princes and princesses will have no trouble answering them.

TV Serie : Launche in Brazil !

We are delighted to announce that the animated series featuring the new adventures of the Little Prince is launching in Brazil, one of the countries where The Little Prince is a favourite book for a good many grown-ups. The first episode of the new adventures, the Planet of Time, will be broadcast on the Discovery Kid channel at 8 p.m. on 2 December.

We hope all Brazil’s Little Princes and Princesses will enjoy meeting their new friend.
